Federico Sturzenegger: "The entire logic of Kirchnerism is the state's coffers."

Federico Sturzenegger , Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, supported the reforms his ministry has implemented over the past year and criticized Kirchnerism for its use of trust funds and decentralized agencies . In a television interview, he stated, " The entire logic of Kirchnerism is the fund ," referring to how state mechanisms were used to manage money with limited oversight.
In an interview with Pablo Rossi and Eduardo Feinmann on A24, Federico Sturzenegger explained how these schemes worked. “It's about putting together something from which you can grab money. A large group of these are what are called trust funds,” he noted. As an example, he mentioned the Fire Management Fund . “There wasn't a penny. Do you know where the money from the Fire Fund had gone? To Télam salaries,” he denounced.
He explained that these funds were intended as flexible instruments, but that this flexibility resulted in less oversight and misappropriation of resources. "They burned all the money," he said. He added, "There isn't a single trust fund where we haven't found irregularities in spending. Virtually all of them were closed."
Federico Sturzenegger also referred to another parallel financing channel. “The other mechanism Kirchnerism had to fund its treasury was through decentralized agencies ,” he warned. He explained: “You spin off a part of the government into an independent entity. First, you have to set up the entire administrative structure like that of a ministry. That agency often also has the ability to collect.”
In this context, he praised the reduction of 50,000 public employees , achieved amid what he considered a " context of strong growth and economic recovery ." He emphasized that this reduction in state personnel allowed for savings of $2 billion in public spending. "This reduction has allowed us to reduce public spending by $2 billion," he repeated. He added: "That's $2 billion that we're returning to the people, into their pockets."
Finally, he emphasized that the cuts in government spending translate into " fewer taxes " for citizens and defended the economic direction the government is pursuing. "We are carrying out a major economic expansion program," he said, echoing Javier Milei 's position.
